Considering options for recalling elected officials...
The state of Georgia has several rules for the process of removing someone from office through a recall election. First, a group must register with the Secretary of State's office and declare what offense the official is guilty of violating. Then, the group must collect a number of signatures within 90 days. The signatures required for a recall election is 15 percent of the number of persons that voted in the last preceding election for the office of incumbent being recalled. With SaveDunwoody's organization, we feel we can achieve the necessary steps required to hold a recall.
We currently are exploring our options for the recall of Dunwoody Mayor Mike Davis.
The biggest hurdle is in collecting signatures in a short amount of time. If you would like to offer your time and assistance in collecting signatures, please fill out the form below. Coordinating the effort is a big task and we want to be organized if we decide to move forward. By submitting your name in the form, you are simply providing us with your contact information - and not committing to anything at this time.
